Hallow Creemee

I'm exhausted, but I couldn't resist this photo of a "hallowcreemee" my daughter made tonight.  Each year in Richmond, Vermont, Bridge Street Cafe owner Marvin Carpenter hands out free creemees (that's Vermont-speak for soft serve ice cream) to trick-or-treaters.

My daughter and dear friend, Kathy manned the creemee window where trick-or-treaters swarmed for a cone or a cup: vanilla, chocolate, or swirl.  Rainbow or chocolate jimmies.  Yum.

The cone pictured here in my husband's hand is vanilla atop an Eat-it-All cone, with a dash of jimmies and strategically placed gummy bears for artistic effect.

I didn't have a creemee, but I did have a big Angus beef burger with sauteed onions and cheese while enjoying the festive atmosphere as our little community gathered on this rainy night for a bit of ghoulish fun made possible by our friends at Bridge Street.

Ann Zuccardy, I like chocolate creemees with...shortbread!
