Fresh Peach Pie
This is a wonderfully delicious pie. It certainly is not low in calories but may well become the summer treat that you'd prepare at least once each year, a great finale to a summer meal.
Extra special if it were made with the Jersey peaches that are plentiful during the summer here in the garden state.
(Recipe compliments of the NJ Department of Agriculture)
Ingredients:
1 9" unbaked pie shell
6 peaches - scalded in boiling water, cool in cold water, remove skin and bruises
1/3 cup sifted flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 cup sour cream
Instructions:
Cut peaches in half. Place cut side up in unbaked pie shell. Combine flour, sugar, nutmeg and sprinkle over cut peaches. Cover with sour cream. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes.
